Rebuilding / Renovation

Destructed, decayed or ruinous buildings or parts of it are rebuilt (partly with original materials).

Religious buildings that were destroyed on account of weather conditions, by disasters or vandalism, are (completely) rebuillt according to their political and socio-cultural significance. This rebuilding can either be a reconstruction of the original architecture or merely a rebuilding with the original materials and/or new materials. If religious buildings are partly destroyed or ruinous, renovation takes place in order to achieve the building's original condition, as far as that is possible. Rebuilt and renovated buildings often occupy a culturally or significant role or have an important function in the urban space.
